Mastering Time Management for Leaders

Time management is one of the most important skills for CEOs, CFOs, and many other business leaders must master to be at their best.

Becoming a better leader requires an investment in time, self-work, and even some discomfort. I think the potential benefit to you, your team, your business, and even your family can be life-changing.

When I say investments in growth I’m referring to things like : journaling, reading, meditation, getting a coach, exercising, eating better, getting more sleep, taking time off, disconnecting, whatever it is you need to do to get better. Since our calendars are already fully booked this means we will have to sacrifice something else we are already doing.

Good time management is about maniacal prioritization.

We are all making priory choices with everything we do (or don’t do) every day.

One challenge is that the important things are very often not the most urgent so we are prone to get caught up in lesser important but more time-sensitive stuff.

You are probably familiar with the Eisenhower matrix. It is designed to help you frame your time allocation choices most effectively despite the internal and external forces that try to take you off your time management game.

Whatever tools or approach works for you, I want you to convince yourself to be maniacal when making priority decisions about your time management.

All in the name of creating more time to do the things that will make you better because I believe the impact can be life-changing for you, your team, and your business.
