Tolerant With Others in Effective Leadership

Marcus Aurelius said, “Be tolerant with others. Be strict with yourself.”

I take this to mean, the focus is on you and improving the situation, especially in leadership.

There is lots of content about being a better leader; books and lists. A lot of it very good. There are all sorts of different leaders. Leaders come from all different backgrounds, experiences, education, skills.

And then there’s you. You and your unique set of skills; your business, your peers, your situation right now. This is where they work needs to be focused: on you and your particular situation.

You need a plan. A plan to get better, and that plan needs structure to ensure our success.
